Oklahoma Truck Accidents
Every year, commercial truck accidents happen over 500,000 times in the United States. In 2021, there were 523,796 incidents reported involving large trucks in the US. This is a 20% increase from the previous year. This figure includes 5,700 large trucks that were involved in fatal crashes in 2021, which is an 18% increase from 2020.
When large truck crashes occur, they often end in severe injuries or fatalities. The average semi truck is about 20 to 30 times larger and heavier than the average passenger vehicle, posing a serious threat when they become involved in traffic accidents together.
Unfortunately, a large percentage of truck accidents in the US are caused by the actions of negligent truck drivers. Because semi-truck drivers are often working long, grueling hours to meet deadlines set by their employers, they often engage in negligent behavior like driving while fatigued, distracted, or even intoxicated.
