Pedestrian Accidents in Oklahoma
In 2022, approximately 20 pedestrians lost their lives per day in the state of Oklahoma. Across the nation, each year, over 6,000 pedestrians lose their lives. Pedestrian crashes happen constantly, and for countless reasons. However, in the United States, driver negligence is the main reason pedestrian accidents happen. Negligence among drivers and other travelers has been a serious problem in the United States for decades. In the past ten years, these four forms of negligence have been the most common among American drivers:
- Intoxication
- Distraction
- Fatigue
- Speeding
When people suffer injuries in auto accidents caused by negligence, they usually end up in the hospital where they have to undergo medical care that is invasive and expensive. Medical expenses related to car crashes are often overwhelming, costing injured victims and their families tens of thousands of dollars. If you or someone you love was recently hurt in a traffic accident caused by a negligent driver, you may benefit from filing a personal injury claim for compensation.
Financial compensation can help you cover the costs related to medical care and more. Damages that result from pedestrian crashes often include:
- Medical bills
- Vehicle repairs
- Lost wages
- Pain
- Suffering
- Emotional turmoil
The only thing worse than suffering injuries in an accident caused by a negligent driver is losing a loved one in the same manner. Losing someone you love is never easy, and can be even more difficult when you know that the accident that caused their passing may have been preventable.
