Oklahoma Traffic Collisions
Car accidents happen constantly in the state of Oklahoma. Every year, tens of thousands of collisions are reported in the Sooner State. These wrecks happen under countless circumstances, including bad weather and vehicle problems. However, in Oklahoma as well as across the nation, driver negligence has become the main cause of the majority of auto collisions.
Each year, throughout the country, more than 94% of reported car wrecks take place due to the actions of negligent drivers. Driver negligence is a dangerous and problematic issue affecting millions of Americans every year. Sadly, more than 6 million car crashes happen every year in the United States. When we consider that over 90% of these happen due to negligent driving, according to the NHTSA, we see that more than 5 million yearly traffic accidents happen because of drivers who are intoxicated, distracted, tired, or traveling at unsafe speeds. Unfortunately, around 3 million individuals suffer injuries in these wrecks while more than 40,000 end up losing their lives. Car crashes are one of the top ten leading reasons American citizens lose their lives, and, individuals ages 15-20 are most often killed in auto accidents in the United States.
