Payne County, OK (August 29, 2024) – A teenager from Newton lost their life and two others suffered critical injuries after a single-vehicle collision that occurred on an interstate in Payne County.
The wreck was reported on I-35 near mile marker 177, according to information from local officials. Reports show the wreck happened at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Thursday. A 17-year-old male lost his life at the scene and three others were transported to local hospitals with injuries. Two of the victims were airlifted to OU Health in Oklahoma City with critical injuries and a 13-year-old boy was transported to a local medical center where he was treated and released. Police in Payne County continue to investigate the details of the incident.
