Oklahoma Auto Accidents
Every year, millions of auto accidents happen in the United States. Approximately six million yearly crashes happen here, with about three million people who sustain injuries and 40,000 who lose their lives per year. In the state of Oklahoma, tens of thousands of accidents happen each year that injure thousands and take the lives of hundreds. In one recent year, over 70,000 traffic collisions were reported in the state.
Moreover, just under 20% of reported traffic collisions in the United States today involve pedestrians. Sadly, about 6,000 pedestrians are killed per year in US traffic accidents. Since pedestrians are always traveling with no protection, they often suffer severe injuries or even lose their lives in accidents. Unfortunately, over half of pedestrian crashes are caused by drivers who are acting negligently.
When you or a loved one have been hurt in an accident, it is important to be able to determine how the collision took place, especially if you know it was caused by another person. Negligent drivers cause millions of auto collisions every year. More than 90% of reported car wrecks in America are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. The most common types of negligent driving today include fatigue, speeding, distraction, and intoxication.
Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable travelers on the roadways in America today. Often, pedestrians suffer severe or even fatal injuries when they become involved in traffic accidents.
