Norman, OK (March 6, 2024) – Police in Norman are currently investigating a deadly multi-vehicle accident that happened on State Highway 9.
Information provided by the Norman Police Department shows that the wreck occurred between 48th Avenue and 60th Avenue South East shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Preliminary investigations carried out by police show that a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound. That accident then caused a chain-reaction crash between three other vehicles. The motorist who initially crossed the center line was identified as a female, age 62. She was transported to an area hospital, where she later lost her life. She was the only one present in her vehicle at the time. The driver of the vehicle struck head-on was identified as a female, age 28, who sustained critical injuries. She was promptly transported to an area medical center for treatment. Additionally, a 7-year-old passenger present in her vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
