A Community Shattered: Mourning the Loss of Four Young Oklahomans
The El Reno and Stillwater communities are grieving following a devastating wrong-way crash on Interstate 40 early Thursday morning. The collision claimed the lives of four young individuals, including 18-year-old Brad Palmer, a recent graduate of El Reno High School who was preparing to play football for Langston University.
Palmer, described by his family as a joyous presence who was "always dancing," was traveling to Oklahoma City with three close friends—Quincy Jones, 19, Kiercey Hickson, 20, and Haliegh Salazar, 18—for a late-night trip to ride scooters in Bricktown. Their vehicle was struck head-on after midnight by a wrong-way driver on I-40.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the surviving driver is suspected of driving under the influence, as empty alcohol bottles were recovered from his vehicle. He is expected to be booked into jail upon his release from the hospital.
Seeking Justice in the Wake of Tragedy
When a catastrophic accident occurs due to a driver's reckless and negligent choices, grieving families are left with immense emotional and financial burdens. In cases involving drunk or wrong-way driving, the law allows surviving family members to pursue wrongful death claims to seek accountability for medical expenses, funeral costs, and the profound loss of companionship.
If your family has been affected by a serious traffic accident, navigating insurance companies and legal structures during a time of mourning can be overwhelming. Milly Daniels Law provides dedicated personal injury representation for Oklahoma families, ensuring negligent parties are held responsible.
